GABRIEL LUNA | "Nate"
Gabriel was born and raised in Austin, TX, and is so very thankful and blessed to work in a brilliant arts community in the city he loves. After attending St. Edward's University, he went on to star in the award winning feature film "Fall to Grace", and several award winning theatrical productions. Recent credits include : Hamlet/Polonius in the 2009 B. Iden Payne Award Winner for Best Play (Drama) "Ophelia", Sergei in the 2009 B. Iden Payne Award Winner for Best Play (Comedy) "Black Snow", and Orestes in "Orestes". He can be seen in the upcoming months in the feature film "Temple Grandin", and Paper Chairs Theatre's production of "Machinal". A Special Thanks to Mom, Momo, Timbo, Megan ;D, PaPa, and Sma. XOCHITL ROMERO | "Nikki"
Originally from San Diego, California, Xochitl has won many acting awards and nominations including the 2009 B. Iden Payne Lead Actress in a Drama for her portrayal of Una in David Harrowers Blackbird and the 2009 Austin Live Theatre's Promising New Actress. She has studied with the Groundlings in Los Angeles and is to graduate this year with her MFA in Acting from the University of Texas at Austin. She will soon appear as half of 'The Foodie Girls' on The Food Network. |

MIKE DAVIS | "Sitter"
Mike was born in 1990 in Palmdale, California. He has competed in skateboarding and snowboarding competitions throughout the western United States. Dance With The One was his first experience as an actor. He is truly overjoyed to have been apart of the film. He received his GED last year and recently shot an episode of "Friday Night Lights" and a PSA for Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. Mike wants to thank the film’s director, Mike Dolan, for giving him his first chance to act. “He is a great friend and mentor,” Davis says of Dolan. |

MIKE DOLAN | Director
Mike Dolan was born in Oklahoma City, but raised in Texas, New Mexico, and Canada. At 17, he dropped out of high school and moved to New York City to pursue acting. As an actor Mike appeared twice on Broadway and has had many leading roles in films, including Biloxi Blues, Hamburger Hill, The Light of Day, Necessary Roughness, and Mars. Mike wrote, produced, and directed the short film, Arrow Shot. Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival, Arrow Shot played at over 50 festivals worldwide and was broadcast throughout Europe on Canal +, and in the USA and Canada on IFC. In 2004, Mike was awarded a three–year fellowship to the James A. Michener Center for Writers at the University of Texas. His first feature film, Dance With The One, will premiere at the 2010 SXSW Film Festival. |

ALEX SMITH | Producer
A writer, director, producer and educator, Alex teaches screenwriting and directing at the University of Texas at Austin, and is the Creative Director of the non-profit University of Texas Film Institute (UTFI), where he recently produced Dance With The One. He co-wrote and co-directed, with his brother Andrew Smith, the award-winning feature film, The Slaughter Rule, starring Ryan Gosling, David Morse, and Amy Adams, which premiered at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival. |

SMITH HENDERSON & JON MARC SMITH | Screenwriters
Screenwriter Smith Henderson hails from Montana and has lived in
central Texas on and off for the past decade, where he has been a
prison guard, writer, and fellow at the University of Texas Michener
Program. His fiction has been widely published and earned numerous
honors, most recently a finalist nod for the Flannery O'Connor Award.
Screenwriter Jon Marc Smith was born in Austin and currently lives in San
Marcos. He received his MFA in fiction from Texas State University in 2003.
He is a senior lecturer in the English Department at Texas State.
Henderson and Smith are currently developing a script with Mad Hatter
Entertainment.
Inspired by their experiences in Austin, Smith and Henderson wrote Dance with the One in the summer of 2007, and then wrote various
drafts as part of the UT Film Institute screenwriting workshop. After filming several scenes with the assistance UT actors, directors,
designers, and crew in UTFI's spring production workshop, the script was chosen to be filmed by the Institute in the
summer of 2008. |
